Hager, Dewick & Zuengler, S.C. was formed in 2005 by John F. Hager, David P. Dewick and Matthew C. Zuengler. Brian T. Flood subsequently joined the firm.

John F. Hager, a native of De Pere, has over 29 years' experience advising individuals and business owners in a wide range of estate and business planning matters, including personal and family estate planning, the purchase and sale of businesses, formation of new businesses, business succession planning and banking and commercial transactions. John maintains a significant estate planning and probate, estate and trust settlement and administration practice, including the preparation of wills and trusts, financial and health care powers of attorney, marital property agreements and other estate planning techniques and documents.
John has been awarded an AV® Preeminent™ rating from Martindale Hubble peer review rating service, reflecting an attorney who has achieved the height of professional excellence and is recognized for the highest level of skill and integrity.
John, who is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant, received his degree in Accounting from Marquette University in 1979 and his Law Degree from Marquette University Law School in 1982, where he was a Thomas More scholar. John is admitted to practice in all State and Federal courts in Wisconsin and the United States Tax Court. His professional affiliations include the State Bar of Wisconsin, Brown County Bar Association, Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Estate Planning Council of Northeast Wisconsin and Green Bay Estate Planning Forum.
John takes great pride in his civic and community involvement. His current and past community involvement includes serving on the Boards of Directors of St. Vincent Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center, the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation, Inc., the Mutual Housing Authority of Green Bay, Inc. and the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Healthy Lifestyles Cooperative; chairing the Friends of St. Vincent Hospital Foundation Board; serving on the Notre Dame of De Pere Board of Education, the St. Vincent Hospital Advisory Council and the St. Vincent Hospital Young Philanthropist Award Committee; participation in the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Green Bay Program, Advance Marketing Committee and CEO Roundtable and involvement with the Junior Achievement Project Business Program and United Way; and coaching a wide variety of sports, at the grade school and high school levels, and is a member of the De Pere ASA Amateur Softball Association Hall of Fame. John was named one of the “50 People You Should Know” by the Bay Business Journal and selected as one of the 2009 Leaders in the Law by the Wisconsin Law Journal. John was also a finalist for the 2009 Best of the Bay award for Best Attorney/Law Firm, as selected by the Green Bay Press Gazette readers.
John and his wife, Char, reside in De Pere, along with their three children, all of whom currently attend Marquette University. Including one at Marquette University Law School.

David P. Dewick has extensive experience advising his clients on a wide range of complex business and real estate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, formation and capitalization of business entities, buy/sell agreements, strategic planning, residential and commercial real estate sales, acquisitions, development and leasing, condominium formation and conversion, banking and financial transactions and general counsel matters. Dave also serves on Advisory Boards for several clients.
Dave received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1991 and his law degree, with honors, from Washburn University School of Law in 1996. Dave is admitted to practice before the courts of the State of Wisconsin and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin. His professional affiliations include the State Bar of Wisconsin and the Brown County Bar Association.
A native of Green Bay, Dave is an active member of the community. His current and past community involvement includes being a board or committee member for The Volunteer Center, Green Bay West Rotary Club and Ducks Unlimited, an advisor to non-profit foundations, a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod’s Constitution Committee and participation in the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Green Bay Program.

Matthew C. Zuengler devotes his practice to advising individuals and closely held business owners on wills, trusts, estate, gift and retirement distribution planning, business succession planning, marital property agreements and probate and trust administration, including post-mortem planning. Matt has significant experience in sophisticated wealth transfer techniques and works closely with his clients in developing and structuring estate plans to achieve both tax and non-tax objectives.
Matt received his bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from Carroll College in 1993 and his Law Degree from Marquette University Law School in 1996. Matt is admitted to practice before all Wisconsin Courts, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin and the United States Tax Court. His professional affiliations include the State Bar of Wisconsin, Brown County Bar Association, Estate Planning Council of Northeast Wisconsin and Green Bay Estate Planning Forum.

Brian T. Flood advises and assists businesses and individuals with their litigation, employment law and business concerns, including commercial/business and civil disputes, breach of contract claims, employment matters, wrongful discharge/discrimination complaints, employee handbooks, noncompete and confidentiality agreements, construction disputes and liens, shareholder disputes, insurance issues, product liability, appellate actions and worker’s compensation. Brian works with the firm’s clients to resolve disputes in an efficient, effective and timely manner. He takes pride in being proactive and in keeping the firm’s clients updated as to the status of their litigation matters.
Brian also understands avoiding litigation is important to the firm’s clients. Therefore, Brian assists the firm’s clients with the implementation of safeguards and policies to avoid pitfalls that commonly result in legal action.
Brian received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 1997 and a law degree from Syracuse University College of Law in New York in 2000. A native of the Green Bay area, Brian began his practice in Chicago, Illinois before returning to Wisconsin. Brian is currently admitted to practice before the courts of the State of Wisconsin, the State of Illinois and the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, Western District of Wisconsin and Northern District of Illinois.
Brian is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, Brown County Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association and Honorable Robert J. Parins Inns of Court. Brian also assisted the Brown County United Way in its 2009 Campaign and is currently involved with the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce through its Leadership Green Bay Program. He is a frequent speaker at presentations to educate and prepare organizations and businesses for the legal issues facing them today. Brian also previously served on the Board of Directors of the Tenant Resource Center.

Ryan D. Krumrie represents his clients in a wide range of business planning, including commercial and civil litigation, mergers and acquisitions, formations of business entities, banking and commercial transactions, residential and commercial real estate sales, collections and employment law matters.
Ryan received his Bachelor’s of Science degree from Winona State University in 2004, magna cum laude, and his law degree from Hamline University School of Law in 2007. Ryan began his practice in Minneapolis, Minnesota before returning to his home state of Wisconsin. Ryan is currently admitted to practice before the courts for the State of Wisconsin, the State of Minnesota and the United States District Court for the State of Minnesota.
Ryan is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, Brown County Bar Association, Minnesota State Bar Association and the Honorable Robert J. Parins Inns of Court. Ryan is currently involved with the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Network.
